e-recycle

e-recycle is a Lyon-based company specializing in the reconditioning and sale of used high-tech products, such as smartphones, tablets and MacBooks, to individuals and businesses.

Founded in 2014 by Arnaud Guillaume and Clément Bongibault, it began with a website comparing recyclers before launching into the sector itself. Initially focused on purchase-resale in collaboration with Ateliers du Bocage for diagnosis, repair and reconditioning, after five years e-recycle set up its own workshop to improve responsiveness and after-sales service.

As a social economy company, e-recycle is committed to reducing programmed obsolescence and having a positive impact on the local area. Reconditioning products saves 94% of CO₂ emissions compared with the production of new products. The company manages the entire process, from sourcing to resale, drawing on the specific expertise of each team member.

At present, e-recycle reconditions almost 10,000 products a year and aims to increase this figure to 50,000. In 2023, the company raised €1.5 million from the Fonds d'Amorçage Industriel Métropolitain (FAIM) Lyon/Saint-Étienne and the Fonds Souverain Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, in order to optimise its production line and increase its reconditioning capacity.
