This project is located in Vouneuil-sur-Vienne in the Vienne department. The afforestation will take place in the place of agricultural crops that are currently under-utilized, adjacent to existing forests. This afforestation project will extend these forests by 4 hectares, using a diversified mix of tree species. Planting is scheduled for winter 2023-2024, and will sequester 1,024 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 7 different species were selected for this afforestation: sessile oak, downy oak, corm, tomrinal alder, downy birch, warty birch and black alder. The species chosen have been designed to withstand global warming while being adapted to current conditions. As a result, 100% of the woodland is deciduous, and existing tree lines will be preserved.
Socio-economic : PEFC certification is planned to guarantee sustainable management of the plantation.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
