This project is located in Fricamps in the Somme region. Afforestation will take place on an abandoned meadow, adjacent to existing forests. This afforestation project will extend these forests by 1.99 hectares, using a diversified mix of tree species. Planting is scheduled for winter 2023-2024, and will sequester 572 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 4 different species were selected for this afforestation: sessile oak, beech, hornbeam and wild cherry. The species chosen were designed to withstand global warming, while being adapted to current conditions. As a result, 100% of the woodland will be deciduous, and existing tree lines and hedges will be preserved.
Socio-economic : The company carrying out the forestry work is only 14 km away.
* The definitive value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
