This project is located in Laventie in Pas-de-Calais. Afforestation will take place in place of undervalued cultivated land. This afforestation project will further extend these forests over 1.53 hectares, using a diversified mix of tree species. Planting is scheduled for winter 2023-2024 and will sequester 543 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 8 different species have been selected for this afforestation: pubescent oak, common hornbeam, alisier torminal, sycamore maple, sessile oak, wild cherry, beech and elm. The species chosen have been designed to withstand global warming while remaining adapted to current conditions. As a result, 100% of the woodland will be deciduous, and existing tree lines and hedges will be preserved.
* The final value of the estimate will be established only after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative decision on verification.
