This project led by Nexity aims to build 47 more ecological housing units in the town of Laval (53). These new constructions, using materials and products of biosourced origin, will make it possible to store 186 tonnes of CO2 equivalent* during the lifespan of the buildings. The work began in December 2023 and will last until March 2026.
Nexity's low-carbon construction project stands out for its commitment to the environment and the well-being of residents. Fundamentally, it is based on a design that respects the ecosystem and human needs.
The residence is built with a wooden frame, accompanied by the use of virtuous materials which are both more energy efficient, healthier and more ecological than conventional alternatives such as concrete.
PEFC-certified wood construction guarantees the preservation of forests and their sustainable development. In addition, the prefabrication of construction elements allows rapid implementation on site, thus reducing CO2 emissions and minimizing noise and environmental pollution:
“Building with wood reduces C02 emissions by 40% compared to a concrete building.”
In addition to its environmental benefits, the residence offers optimal thermal comfort thanks to superior insulation, increased acoustic attenuation and healthier indoor air thanks to the natural regulation of humidity by wood.
Overall, the Nexity project represents a harmonious fusion between environmental imperatives, requirements for comfort and practicality, and sustainability standards, thus offering residents a place to live where well-being and ecological responsibility combine harmoniously.
