This project is located in Fienvillers in the Somme. Afforestation will take place on former farmland. This afforestation project will create 2.5 hectares of forest, using a diversified mix of tree species. Planting is scheduled for early 2024 and will sequester 673 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 7 different species have been selected for this afforestation: sessile oak, beech, wild cherry, blackthorn, wild apple tree, wild pear tree and hornbeam. The species chosen were designed to withstand global warming while being adapted to current conditions. As a result, 100% of the woodland is made up of broadleaved trees, and the nearby existing rows of trees will be preserved.
Socio-economic : A local forestry company has been selected to carry out the work.
