This project is located in Sérent in the Morbihan department. The afforestation will take place on former meadows that are currently little used. This project will extend an existing forest over 1.82 hectare, using a mix of Douglas fir and sessile oak. Planting is scheduled for december2024 and will sequester 635 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : Existing woodland edges near the plots to be planted will be preserved.
Socio-economic : A local forestry company has been selected to carry out the work, and the plantation will be PEFC-certified.
Soil conservation : The plot will be prepared for planting with strip tillage to limit the impact on soil life and avoid releasing the carbon contained in the organic matter.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative decision on verification.
