This project is located in Fieffes-Montrelet in the Somme. Afforestation will take place on former farmland. This afforestation project will create 2.36 hectares of forest, using a diverse mix of tree species. Planting is scheduled for the end of 2024 and will sequester 612 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 3 different species have been selected for this afforestation: sessile oak, pubescent oak and hornbeam. The species chosen were designed to withstand global warming while being adapted to current conditions. As a result, 100% of the woodland is made up of broadleaved trees, and the existing rows of trees will be preserved.
Socio-economic : A local forestry company has been selected to carry out the work.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
