This project is located in Avremesnil in Seine-Maritime. Afforestation will take place on former farmland. This afforestation project will create 3 hectares of forest, using a diverse mix of tree species. Planting is scheduled for the winter of 2024-2025 and will sequester 867 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 7 different tree species have been selected for this afforestation: sessile oak, beech, pedunculate oak, hornbeam, Douglas fir, corm tree and common nannyberry. The species chosen have been designed to withstand global warming while being adapted to current conditions. 100% of the woodland is therefore made up of broadleaved trees.
Socio-economic : PEFC certification is planned to guarantee sustainable management of the plantation. In addition, a local forestry company has been selected to carry out the work.
Soil conservation : The plot will only be worked on the tree plantation line.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
