This project is located in Avelesges in the Somme. Afforestation will take place on former farmland bordering an existing forest. This very diversified plantation project will create 3.12 hectares of new woodland. Planting is scheduled for the winter of 2024-2025 and will sequester 891 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 12 different species have been selected for this afforestation: sessile oak, downy oak, common beech, Atlas cedar, chestnut, small-leaved lime, plane and sycamore maple, walnut, hazel, hornbeam and wild cherry. The species chosen have been designed to withstand global warming while being adapted to current conditions.
Socio-economic : A local forestry company was selected to carry out the work.
Soil conservation : The plot will only be worked on the tree plantation line.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
