Plantation of poplar and maritime pine in the Gers
This project involves planting poplar and maritime pine trees on 14.2 hectares of former vineyards uprooted in Estang. Located in the Collines de l'Adour forest ecoregion, the tree species were carefully selected to meet both soil conditions and climate change adaptation needs. The project will sequester 3,535 tonnes of CO2 equivalent over 30 years*.
Socio-economic: PEFC certification of the woodland is planned to guarantee sustainable management.
Biodiversity and Water: Habitat trees, isolated or grove-like deciduous trees, as well as wetlands and riparian zones, where present on the plot, will be subject to conservation and biodiversity protection measures.
*The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
