This project is located in Momuy in the Landes region.The afforestation will take place on former agricultural land between several existing woods. This afforestation project will connect all these woods with an ecological corridor on 6.6 hectares, using a diverse mix of species. Planting is scheduled for winter 2024-2025 and will sequester 2188 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : 7 different species have been selected for this afforestation: sessile oak, maritime pine, umbrella pine, holm oak, taeda pine, black locust and cork oak. The species chosen have been designed to withstand global warming while being adapted to current conditions. Existing woodland edges will also be preserved.
Socio-economic : A local forestry company has been selected to carry out the work. In addition, the plantation will be PEFC-certified.
Soil conservation : The plot will only be worked on the tree plantation line.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative decision on verification.
