Despite the importance of taking action on the impact of the digital sector, only 17% of end-of-life devices are actually collected. The carbon credits will support the implementation of optimised collection campaigns, the increase of the number of reconditioned and repaired products, diversification towards other electronic equipment, and the development of innovative large-scale projects for products in Europe.
The first objective is to strengthen partnerships with local businesses to increase the capacity to collect, recondition and sell electronic products in short circuits.
The second is to improve the performance of the reconditioning process, so that more products can be reconditioned, particularly older models, and to encourage the reconditioning of spare parts.
