This project is located in Monget in the Landes region. The afforestation will take place on former agricultural meadows between several existing woods.This afforestation project will connect all these woods thanks to two ecological corridors covering a total of 3.72 hectares. The woodland will be planted with a mixture of taeda pine and sessile oak, chosen to withstand global warming while being adapted to current conditions. The plantation is scheduled for the winter of 2024-2025 and will sequester 1,343 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity : The existing woodland edges will be preserved.
Socio-economic : A local forestry company has been selected to carry out the work. In addition, the plantation will be PEFC-certified.
Soil conservation : The plot will only be worked on the tree plantation line.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
