This project is located in the commune of Vendegies-sur-Ecaillon in the North of France. Afforestation will take place on former farmland. This afforestation project will create 7.9 hectares of forest using a mix of Koster, Trichobel and Vesten poplars. Planting is scheduled for early 2025 and will sequester 2916 tonnes of CO2eq over 30 years*.
Biodiversity: The existing rows of trees will be preserved.
Soil preservation: The soil will be worked to a minimum only on the future locations of each tree, to limit the impact on soil life and avoid releasing the carbon contained in the organic matter.
