This project is located in the commune of Berthez in Gironde. The afforestation will take place on agricultural land adjacent to existing forests. This afforestation project will create 3.1 hectares of forest, primarily black locust, which will be accompanied by field maple, hornbeam, holm oak, cork oak, American red oak, sweetgum, turkey oak, linden, pin oak, and Atlas cedar. Planting is planned for the winter of 2025-2026 and will sequester 1,111 tons of CO2eq over 30 years*.

Socio-economic: Local forestry stakeholders will be involved in this project.
Biodiversity: The plantation will consist of 100% hardwoods and will not impact existing forest edges while expanding adjacent forests.
