Examples: reducing the frequency of soil cultivation, minimalist plot preparation, restoring organic matter and preserving soil microfauna.
Examples: diversity and locality of crop species, preservation of habitat for local flora and fauna, presence of beehives for pollination.
Examples: territorial dynamics, societal demand, diversification of the activity, local sales/processing, working conditions, sharing of good practices.
Reforestation of dying wood with species more suited to climate change.
This project aims to prove to local forest owners whose ash trees are affected by the chalarose disease that reforestation is possible. This area is indeed very affected by this devastating pathogenic fungus imported from Asia on ash, which is the 5th French species in terms of population in our forests. Affected ash trees see their foliage wither, their crowns become thinner and their branches become necrotic, preventing the circulation of the sap. No treatment is sufficiently effective today and the mortality of ash trees quickly becomes very high, both on young trees and on more mature specimens. Some local owners are overwhelmed by the extent of the damage and find it difficult to mobilize to find solutions.
This experimental reforestation project on half a hectare consists of repopulating the area with pedunculate oak, plane maple and linden which will constitute a diversified stand adapted to the challenges of tomorrow (global warming, resistance to common diseases , pollination, etc.). The pedo-climatic context of the plots was also studied and is favorable to these 3 species. A successful establishment of these 3 species will show the way to neighboring owners who encounter the same concerns and who have similar soils and climate. 103 tonnes of CO2* will be sequestered at the same time. In terms of co-benefits:
-Local forestry actors will be called upon to work on this project.
-The ground will be particularly protected because the establishment will be done without preparation of the ground or cleaning.
-The project will be positive in terms of biodiversity thanks to the diversity of species planted and thanks to the preservation of two large oak trees already present.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
