3.1 ha afforestation in Masclat
This project involves planting 3.1 hectares of abandoned farmland to capture an additional 653 tonnes of CO2 equivalent over 30 years*. The planting will be carried out with a mix of future-oriented broadleaf and coniferous species: Atlas cedar, sessile oak, and hornbeam.
Socio-economic: The work will be carried out locally by forestry companies located within 100 km of the afforestation site, thus creating added value for the local area. The proper management of this forest will be ensured by PEFC sustainable management certification.
Biodiversity: The chosen species are native and/or adapted to climate change.
Soil Preservation: Soil preparation will be minimal, limited to the planting row.
