Examples: reducing the frequency of soil cultivation, minimalist plot preparation, restoring organic matter and preserving soil microfauna.
Examples: diversity and locality of crop species, preservation of habitat for local flora and fauna, presence of beehives for pollination.
Examples: Consideration of wetlands, use of adapted species, drip-connected irrigation tools.
In 1987, Eric Doré began planting his first apple trees in the heart of Norman Vexin, on clay-loam soil. Today, Le Pressoir d'Or produces ciders, juices, vinegar, jams and jellies, produced on an estate made up of an apple orchard certified Organic Agriculture with more than 26,000 trees spread over 50 Ha. . In 2022, the Pressoir d'Or has more than 25 medals.

The story behind the project: Founded in 1987 by Éric Doré in Frenelles-en Vexin in the department of Eure, the Pressoir d'Or has been oriented since its creation towards the planting of apple trees, instead of land devoted to breeding. Today, the operation covers nearly 330 hectares, including more than 26,000 trees and 15 varieties of cider apples such as dog skin, judaine, sweet moen... The processing and bottling being done on site, the farm favors a short circuit and a low carbon footprint in addition to local production limiting imports from abroad. Eric Doré likes to describe himself as a producer, harvester and processor: “We go from planting the apple tree to tasting and oenology of the product and its aromas.” During the three years of certification, the farm operated and continues to function under reasoned pest control. Crop management has been made more responsible with the investment in a mechanical weeding machine, the improvement of cultivation practices and the reduction of chemical inputs. To promote the pollination of the orchard and the harvest of honey, wild bees as well as about thirty hives of domesticated bees have been placed on the farm. Pheromone traps and various insects such as the typhlodrome, predator of the red spider, and the ladybird for aphids, have been introduced.
The levers implemented: Today, the project of Éric Doré and his daughter Margaux is to expand the farm by planting new apple trees on an area of 4.33 hectares of former farmland. This will both increase their production of cider, which is recognised for its quality and has received numerous awards and medals, as well as increase carbon storage by 225.7 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 20 years*. Approved by the ministry, this project is funded by Adecco. The action levers are chosen for their capacity to store carbon, combined with numerous co-benefits, such as avoiding soil disturbances and preserving biodiversity and water resources. This respect for biodiversity, combined with more responsible operating techniques, enabled the Pressoir d'Or to receive Organic Agriculture certification in 2020. Certification today combined with the protected geographical indication (PGI) and the ISO standard 9001 based on quality management.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
