Located in the departments of Gironde, Dordogne and Lot et Garonne, this collective project to plant chestnut and walnut orchards will cover an area of 34.80 ha in seven farms. It will thus allow the additional storage of 1835 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, the promotion of good agricultural practices, the development of biodiversity, water resources and many other co-benefits. Among the farms concerned, that of Mr. Jean-Roland Lavergne, located in Cénac-et-Saint-Julien in the Dordogne, plans to increase its area of chestnut trees by 1 Ha and thus allow additional storage of 55.13 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 20 years*.
In terms of co-benefits, the plantation will be managed using organic farming methods, which guarantees the use of natural inputs only to fertilize and protect the orchard.
This project is financed by Adecco, the recruitment leader in France, in line with the environmental policy of reducing and offsetting its emissions.
* The final value of the estimate will only be established after verification by an independent auditor and an administrative verification decision.
